Now that pieces of the actual Woodstock stage have been found and are being offered as souveniers, we are able to build the ultimate tribute guitar--a guitar with an actual piece of the original Woodstock stage embedded in it.
Yup, from the same sheets of wood that are now in the Smithsonian, and Woodstock museum in Bethel NY. Probably gives you the same chills we get.
So, what type of guitar to build these pieces of stage into? Well, if you think back to Woodstock and the many guitars played there, two guitars come to the forefront--one played by a number of folks but played most famously by Jimi in the magic chill of that August 13th morning; and another played by Jerry, Pete and Carlos the day before. We offer this one--model number JH8131969 (can you crack our deep code?)--as a tribute guitar to Jimi, his famous Fonder Straht, and the spirit of an entire Peace, Love and Music generation.
The guitar is made of light-but-tough paulownia wood and finished in Olympic White nitro. The paulownia is very comfortably light, but with no neck drop. Feels odd when picked up after a heavy guitar, almost impossibly light. But wait five minutes and it feels awful NICE!
The pickups are Giovanni low-noise, and the output jack is a PureTone, for the quietest single coil performance possible.
The neck is Canadian maple, finished with our 20-step in-house-developed process--for a great combination of sleek appearance and durability. The tuners are Fender Vintage, slotted tuners.
In the headstock we have bonded and epoxy-embedded an actual piece of the Woodstock stage. We provide the certificate of authenticity as well as original packaging of the wooden PeaceOfStage* disc. As mentioned above, this is a piece of the same Woodstock stage wood that is on display at the Smithsonian and Woodstock museums, and has been authenticated by both historians and wood experts. Magic. Guaranteed to make you play as well as Hendricks (my old boss, Tom Hendricks, who couldn't play a lick). A laminated, serialized certificate of authenticity is provided.
Just being in the presence of a PeaceOfStage piece gives us goosebumps. Playing the JH tribute guitar with the stage piece in it gives us magic goosebumps. What can we say. Children of the 60's and 70's we are...
