The "Sycamore Straht" by Les Brers Guitars:

We saved this pretty piece of Connecticut sycamore from becoming firewood, and turned it into a great playing, great sounding ST type guitar. Felled in 2021, this sycamore was kiln dried, then air dried for two years, yielding a wonderfully stable chunk of wood for a guitar.

The one piece sycamore body is finished in a durable yet pretty poly, with the traditional "belly" and forearm contours.

Electronics: Pickups are True Custom Shop vintage Stratocaster pickups, and the signal chain is kept clean via the utilization of Alpha pots, Kaish switch, vintage cloth wiring and a PureTone output jack. CLEAN. More clean: Cavities are copper lined, and pickup leads have been wound to proper tpi to minimize interference.

COOL CUSTOM WIRING NOTE: To get "two guitars in one"--a Telly and a Straht--we wired this one uniquely: We switched the neck and middle positions. So, when you set the switch between the middle and bridge position, you get the bridge AND NECK pickups together, not the middle and bridge pickups together. So, you lose the middle/bridge combination, but you gain the bridge/neck combination.

Touching the strings: The bridge is a classic hard tail bridge, with six steel saddles for perfect intonation. The nut is genuine bone, and the tuning machines are Fender vintage tuners.

Everything in the electronic path, and everything that touches the strings is quality. NO generics. That helps to ensure good, clean sound.

The neck is maple, the fingerboard rosewood. The fingerboard has been treated, and the neck is finished in our sleek-but-comfy, 20-step, hand rubbed process. The fretboard has been leveled, re-crowned, and dressed for playing comfort and no fretbuzz.
