And the quality of the Woodsman doesn't stop at its looks. The guts are all the kind of quality you'd get from an American made you-know-what, but at a fraction of the price. Versatile, clear and very well balanced, the Ascendas pickups are equally comfortable going modern or going traditional, or anywhere in between. The electronics are name brand, quality components. Alpha pots, Kaish switch, "orange drop" cap, and the industry leading PureTone double contact output jack all ensure that your signal path is clear as a bell, with no snap crackle or pop. In fact, at Les Brers Guitars, we do two things most don't, and that results in a guitar so quiet that many have told us it's the quietest guitar they've ever played--we line all cavities with copper tape lining, and we precisely wind all pickup leads to a spec designed to reduce/eliminate rf and other interference.
And everything that touches the strings has been carefully selected to give you a guitar playing experience akin to an instrument thousands of dollars more. Grover tuners, a six saddle, fully adjustable bridge, and bone nut cut to exacting specifications add to the mix, further providing you a guitar that plays, sounds and looks like one for thousands more.
The single bound body is complimented by the maple/maple neck with lasered Les Brers logo and flag eagle emblem. The neck has been finished with our own proprietary hand rubbed oil finish that is at once durable, sleek looking and sleek playing. Tuners are the best--Grovers--because, after all, a guitar that doesn't stay in tune is no more than a wall ornament! And finally, the neck has been attached to the body via our "guide hole physics" method. This ensures the most solid neck/body communion possible, which results in noticeably longer sustain, ring and clarity.
Look closely and you'll notice some signs (imperfections) of the guitar being hand-built. Nothing major, and no affect on the overall. Just so you know we're here...!
